ST. ANTHONY'S PARISH, OKUKU HOSTS INISA DEANERY LEGIONS
March 23rd, 2025 will be etched in the memories of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Okuku parishioners as they hosted the annual rededication and renewal of consecration of Legion of Mary members from across the Inisa Deanery.
In his homily, Inisa Deanery Chaplain of the Society, Rev. Fr. Benedict Idowu, emphasized the importance of belonging to a pious society within the Church, citing the spiritual strength and direction it provides. He underscored the benefits of the Legion of Mary and the significance of the annual gathering for celebration and consecration.
Fr. Idowu urged Legion members to cultivate prayerfulness through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the power of the Holy Spirit. He encouraged them to share and spread the Good News, particularly to the sick, lukewarm, and those in need, while maintaining devotion to Holy Mary, Mother of God.
The event featured a renewal of consecration and public profession of devotion to Holy Mary, with members seeking her continuous intercession, guidance, and protection. A special thanksgiving followed, with participants expressing gratitude to God through dance and gift offerings. A meeting with a love feast was held after the Mass, and new members were welcomed into the society.
