The Pass on the Faith quiz competition (Group C) organized by the Directorate of Religious Catholic Education, Ibadan Archdioceses was held on the 8th of February 2025, Feast Day of St. Josephine Bakhita at St. Mary Cathedral Hall, St. Mary  Cathedral, Oke Padre.

24 participants comprising 3 representatives, ages 4-9 years from the 8 parishes in group C participated in the competition. The parishes were; Church of Ascension Catholic Church, Bodija; St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Adeoyo Ring Road; Holy Family Catholic Church, Yawiri; Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gegelose; St. Mary Cathedral, Oke Padre; St. Anthony Catholic Church, Ashipa; St. James Catholic Church, Olorunda; and St. Richard Catholic Church, Eleyele.

The competition began at 10:00 a.m.

The Director of Catholic Education, Ibadan Archdioceses, Rev. Fr. Clement Emerue, who was the Quiz Master read the rules and regulations of the competition to the participants.

Questions were from the liturgical calendar Year B. Representatives from each group chose questions from the pool and they answered. 10 marks was awarded to questions answered correctly. Participants from each parish worked as a team.

At the end of the competition, there was a tie with St. Richard Catholic Church, Eleyele and St. Anthony Catholic Church, Ashipa, taking the first position followed by St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Adeoyo Ring Road, came third and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gegelose took the fourth position. The parishes who clinched the first to fourth positions would represent Group C at the next phase of the competition.

All the participants were given a copy of the Pass on the Faith book each.

Rev. Fr. Clement Emerue expressed his gratitude to the participants, their teachers, volunteers, parents, sponsors and all present. He encouraged everyone to keep the faith burning, to teach and instruct the children and everyone to learn and grow more in the faith.
