In a festive display of creativity and nostalgia, the Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON) at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church hosted an unforgettable Boxing Day celebration on December 26, 2024. Tagged "BACK2SCHOOL," the event—#TheDINNER4.0—brought together people of all ages and backgrounds from within and around the Ancient City for an evening of fun, reflection, and camaraderie at the Parish Hall at Old Ife Road, Ibadan.

The evening kicked off with a lively green-carpet session that doubled as a trip down memory lane. Guests were invited to sign a large board outside the venue, writing messages like "Daniel was here," reminiscent of carefree moments from their school days. This creative touch set the tone for the event, sparking excitement and engagement among attendees.

A highlight of the evening was the series of competitions that added a spirited edge to the gathering. From quizzes to rhyme battles between private and public schools, these activities not only entertained but also fostered connections among participants while evoking a sense of nostalgia. Attendees enthusiastically sang familiar rhymes like "1, 2, buckle my shoes. 3, 4, knock at the door..." The energy was palpable as the crowd gathered on the "assembly ground," cheering one another on and making the event truly inclusive.

Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including the Parish Priest, Monsignor J.K. Idowu; Rev. Fr. Daniel Izebunor, Parish Priest of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Egbeda; as well as Reverend Sisters and older parishioners who joined in the fun. Their presence underscored the unifying spirit of the event, bridging generational gaps and strengthening the parish community and encouraging humanity.
