The Parish Priest, Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral, Very Rev. Fr. Dr Peter Oluseyi Adeyemi has on Crossover Night, December 31, revealed the parish focus for the year 2025.

Daily Eucharistic Celebration, Weekly Deepening the Faith Engagement, Weekly Benediction, Communal Vesper, Rosary, Active promotion of and participation in Pious and devotional groups, Periodic retreats and revival, Robust Catechesis, Evangelization drive, Pastoral care and Welfare are major spiritual activities that would be taking place in the parish in 2025.

Recall that the parish theme for last year was 'Sanctify them in the truth, your word is truth." This year's theme, "Seek first the kingdom of God and it's righteous, every other things will be added, Matt 6:33" embodies the spiritual activities of year 2025. Earlier that night, the Priest stressed the importance of given thanks for the year 2024, recalling that despite the tensed situation in the country, God has been faithful and cannot be thanked enough.

In 2025, he urged both Christians and none Christians alike, gathered for crossover to seek first God's kingdom. He considered it a prerequisite for every other human needs and wants. He educated that those that faithfully seek God diligently automatically receives fulfilment of God's promises.  While Fr. Adeyemi noted that the 2025 theme speaks about trust, hope and providence, he reiterated why it is important for Christians to have a strong conviction of their faith this year. He further added that compassion and love is essential while seeking God's kingdom; however, there is need for the love of oneself before the love for others.

According to Adeyemi, human being should let go of grudges, hatred, bitterness, resentment and imbibe the spirit of forgiveness.  His reason is that those wearing these negativities cannot claim to be working towards righteousness. While the priest urged Christians to be mind-focused since those with a divided heart cannot seek the face or God, he encouraged them to take very good care of their families in 2025. They were advised to watch the manner they speak and relate within and with others outside their families. His reason being that those careless with words cause troubles.

Proffering the examples of the Biblical figures like: Abraham, Noah, Three Wise Men and others, Fr Adeyemi enlisted - Good Health, Wealth, Good Reputation, Integrity and others as benefits of seeking first the kingdom of God.
