The Bishop of Oyo Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo, was warmly welcomed by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Benedict Joshua, and the parishioners of Saint Michael Catholic Church, Okeho, on Sunday, December 15, 2024. The occasion was the blessing and commissioning of the Church's new Marian grotto.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass. In his homily, Bishop Badejo commended the Church on her remarkable growth over the past few years. He appreciated the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Benedict Joshua, for his tireless efforts in developing the Church, which has been transformed to one of the most beautiful in the Oke - Ogun area.

Bishop Badejo also commended the parishioners for their dedication and contributions to the Church, as well as those who helped construct the Marian grotto. He encouraged the congregation not to be discouraged by the country's challenges but to continue hoping in God. He further emphasized the importance of repentance during the Advent season and urged Catholics to boldly declare their faith in Jesus Christ. His Lordship also applauded the Religious in the Church for their contributions and appreciated Mr. Mathew Ogunsanya for his service as the Principal of the Church's College.

After the Mass, the Bishop, Priests, and Parishioners processed to the Marian grotto for its blessing and commissioning. Bishop Badejo encouraged everyone to visit the Grotto to seek Mary's intercession, emphasizing that Catholics pray with Mary to Jesus Christ, rather than worship her.

The celebration concluded with the Bishop's final blessing, followed by a photo session and the parishioners' departure.
