Bishop Kundi Lays Diocesan Secretariat Foundation
The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Most Rev. Dr. Julius Yakubu Kundi has laid the foundation of the Diocesan Secretariat for the Diocese.
While speaking at the Foundation Laying ceremony on 4th of December, 2024, Bishop Julius Yakubu Kundi expressed gratitude to God for His unquantifiable grace on the Diocese. He also expressed his joy on the hopeful beginning of the success of the Secretariat building.
"Today, we gather here with hearts full of hope and joy as we lay the foundation for the Diocesan Secretariat - a space that will serve as a beacon of faith, collaboration, and community service." Bishop Kundi stated.
The Chief Shepherd of Kafanchan Diocese opined that the Diocesan Secretariat is an integral part of the mission of the Church, especially, her spiritual missions and outreaches. "A Diocesan Secretariat is vital for the efficient functioning of the Diocese, contributing to its spiritual mission and outreach while supporting the clergy and laity in their various roles." Bishop Kundi noted
"Standing here together we are reminded of this and our mission to serve and uplift each other in this spirit of love and unity. For this reason, the new Secretariat will not only be a physical space but a symbol of our commitment to the Church's mission and the needs of our community. It will be a hub for pastoral care, education, and outreach, allowing us to better connect with one another and respond to the challenges we face." His Lordship declared.
Furthermore, Bishop Julius Kundi clarified that the foundation laying was more than a ceremonial event, rather it represented the shared vision of the Diocese for the future and the hope to foster a vibrant faith community while serving those in need.
"The foundation we lay today is not just about bricks and steel irons; it represents our shared vision for the future. It embodies our dedication to fostering a vibrant faith community, nurturing the gifts of every individual, and extending our hands in service to those in need." Bishop Kundi admonished
His Lordship expressed his appreciation to everyone who has played a role in making the vision of the new Secretariat a reality. He expressed his gratitude to the Architects, Diocesan Senate, Priests with Religious and Lay faithful of the Diocese. "I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone who has played a role in making this vision a reality. To the Architects, the Diocesan Senate, all Priests for your sincere input, hard work and dedication which are invaluable. To our faithful parishioners and supporters for your kind approval, generosity and commitment that have made this ceremony today possible. And to all our partners in this project, for believing in us and for the assurance to support us all through to the end." His Lordship stated.
Furthermore, Bishop Kundi admonished everyone that as the foundation of the new Diocesan Secretariat is being laid, the groundwork for a future filled with hope, compassion, and unwavering faith should be laid in individual lives. He prayed that the Secretariat would be a place where all are welcome, where the teachings of Christ guide actions, and where people can come together to grow spiritually and serve our community.
Bishop Kundi called for prayer for the success of the project and for the continued growth of the Diocese. Also, he encouraged everyone to always seek to be instruments of peace and love in the world.
