WE ARE VERY RICH IN CULTURE AS CATHOLICS, FR. BALOGUN

The Parish Priest of St. Anne Catholic Church, Ogbere, Ibadan, Rev. Fr. Stephen Balogun has congratulated Catholic Faithful for having a very rich culture as Catholics.

The Priest made this remark while delivering his homily with the theme: “The King with a distinct difference.” He thanked God for witnessing the last Sunday of the Liturgical Year B and appreciated the Flower girls in the parish for looking beautiful without any make-up. “Today is a day of joy when we realize God is still there for us. As we speak, some are being rushed to hospital this morning. It is God’s grace we are enjoying. Hence, we go on the road for others to know what we do in the Church, something done over ten years ago because of insecurity, hence, no place for sorrow but joy.”

The feast of Christ the King, Fr. Balogun added, calls us to think of our allegiance. “If you’re celebrating king of your village, would you not do it well? What then the King of Kings? His Kingdom is Eucharistic Kingdom. His Kingship has no limitation.”

The priest urged all to manage their situations, for Christ also endured a lot. Christ died for us, humbled Himself, washed the feet of His Apostles and gave us His Body and Blood. “He has done it; He is doing it and He will continue to do it.” The priest said.

Fr. Balogun also warned against arrogance of any form. “Don’t be arrogant by saying ‘I am in charge’. Respect is won, not forced. We are called to do good to all and help the poor and the needy.” The cleric stated.

The Parish also held a short adoration and procession before joining the Archdiocesan procession from St. Gabriel, Mokola to SS Peter and Paul Major Seminary in Bodija, Ibadan.

Fr. Stephen Balogun thanked Fr. Justine Adeka, CSJ for accepting to celebrate the day’s Mass and for holding forth during the Harvest thanksgiving at both Gbedu and Amuloko, even as he urged him to still get ready for the Harvest Thanksgiving of the Mother Parish, coming up the following Sunday, 1st December, 2024.
