MATER DEI GBOPA CELEBRATES HARVEST OF GOD'S LOVE IN GRAND STYLE.
Parishioners of Mater Dei Catholic Church, Gbopa, Ologuneru, Ibadan, celebrated the 2024 Annual Adult Harvest in grant style, amid cheers, joy and delight as one family. The Mass which was held on Sunday, 17th November, 2024, at about 10.00am prompt, was celebrated by the Director of OFFER Centre, Olupona, Rev. Fr. Christopher Ojikutu.
In his homily titled "That great day is coming", Fr.Ojikutu spoke about the importance of preparing for the end time. He said the last four things which are; death, judgement, heaven or hell, are inevitable for any living soul, hence, the need to always be ready to meet our master to account for our stewardship. "Dearly beloved, it is possible for someone to die untimely, but it is disastrous to die unprepared. When death comes, Christ has come. How we live our life should be paramount because heaven is real and hell is real as well. Let us live this moment as if it is our last and always have it at the back of our mind that one day, we are going back to meet with our master to account for our stewardship," he said.
Fr. Ojikutu, who was the first Parish Priest of Mater Dei Catholic Church, Gbopa, said with time, history shall over run any record we are claiming to hold. He added that many generations to come shall forget about us, but our good deeds will be the only thing remarkable they can remember. He concluded his homily by urging every Christian to always focus on achieving Heaven as their utmost reward.
