GET READY FOR YOUR DEATH- BISHOP OYEJOLA PREACHES
The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo, Most Rev John Akinkunmi Oyejola has admonished lay faithful to be fully ready for their deaths any time. He made this remarks at St. Benedict Catholic Cathedral, Popo – Osogbo, during the funeral Mass for Late Mr Felix Taiwo Bamgbala.
The Bishop charged friends and family members of the deceased to be active, committed and alive in their religious lives. He eulogized the deceased for his simplicity, generosity, deep devotion and great support of the work of evangelization.
Earlier in his homily, Rev. Fr. Festus Komolafe, the Cathedral Administrator, extolled the sterling qualities of the deceased. He said despite his health challenges, Late Mr Bamgbala was humorous throughout his lifetime. He said that the deceased observed the three teachings of the Church- by knowing God, loving Him and serving Him.
The homilist said the deceased, as a practicing Catholic with his baptism had been fully prepared for his death. He counselled the children to continue in the true worship of God just like their father, who served with all his might.
The burial Mass had the Metropolitan Archbishop of Ibadan, Most Rev. Gabriel Abegunrin as the Chief Celebrant. Other Bishop and priests who concelebrated the Mass included; Most Rev. John Oyejola, the Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Osogbo, Msgnr Michael Okodua, Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Abe (Vicar of the Priests), Very Rev Festus Komolafe (the Cathedral Administrator), Rev. Fr. Lawrence Olusola (Parochial Vicar) and Rev. Fr. John Adeniran.
Members of St. Peter Society of St. Benedict Catholic Cathedral, Popo - Osogbo, the society which the deceased belonged to, rendered an eulogy.
The Late Mr Felix Taiwo Bamgbala, the serving President of the Parish CMO was survived by his wife, children, brothers and sisters including his twin brother, Mr Kehinde Bamgbala.
