‎For someone to be a member of nonagenarian club in this terrestrial realm when human life span is very short, one has every cause to thank God for sustenance of life in good health of mind and body.

‎Pa Mathew Akinro, aged 94 in this unique month of August celebrated his birthday with his family harvest. He is the oldest parishioner at St Paul's Catholic Church, Omi-Adio in Oluyole Deanery of the Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan.

‎He was a retired public servant who hails from Òkiti Pupa. He was a foundation member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Omi-Adio, Ibadan. When the parish was elevated to the status of a parish in 2008, he was an active member of the choir; until old age set in, a staunch member of the Catholic Men Organization of the parish.

‎What fascinates this writer about Pa Matthew Akinro is that he walks gently to the altar to receive sacrament without any walker. He can trek up to one hundred meters despite decline in body metabolism.

‎We wish him more fruitful years in the Lord vineyard.
