Yet there is real beauty here. You can speak with family across the ocean in seconds. You can learn a new skill from a teacher you will never meet in person. You can share a prayer, a song, or a kind word that reaches thousands of people. Artists show their work. Scientists share discoveries. Ordinary people tell stories that encourage others. The digital continent connects hearts in ways the physical continents never could. It is a place of wonder if we use it wisely.

However, Christians have a clear task on this eighth continent. Most especially the youths as you round up your youth week today. Pope Benedict XVI urged believers, especially young people, to enter this space with courage and faith. We must not only visit it, we must live there as witnesses. Christians should speak the truth with kindness. Share messages of hope instead of hate. Protect the dignity of every person they meet online. Use social media to point others towards Jesus, not just to gain likes. Be honest, respectful, and ready to listen. The digital world needs people who bring light, not more noise.

In short, the seven physical continents remain the places where we walk and breathe. The eighth continent, the digital realm is the place where more and more of our daily life now happens. It is a gift and a responsibility. Christians are called to inhabit it with faith, to make it a place where truth and love can grow.

The digital continent is here to stay. The question is simple: Will we shape it for good, or will we let it shape us? The choice belongs to every person who logs in. Let us enter this new land with open eyes, pure hearts, and the Good News ready to share.
