CMON St. Peter’s Ota Unveils 16-Day Programme for 2026 Father’s Day Celebration

The Catholic Men’s Organisation, Nigeria (CMON), St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Ota, Abeokuta Diocese, has rolled out a comprehensive 16-day programme to celebrate Father’s Day 2026.

 

Themed “Faithful Fathers: Shepherding the Family and Church in Challenging Times,” the event will feature a rich blend of spiritual, cultural, health, economic, and social activities aimed at strengthening Catholic men in their roles as leaders in the family and the Church.

 

Highlights of the Programme:

Saturday, June 6 – Novelty Football Match between CMON St. Peter’s Ota and men of All Saints Catholic Church, Iju, at All Saints Parish playground, Iju.

Sunday, June 14 – Cultural Sunday. All men are encouraged to attend Mass in their traditional/cultural attires to celebrate unity in diversity.

 

Monday 15th – Wednesday 17th June – Spiritual Fortification through fasting and intensive prayers for the success of the CMO Day and the intentions of all Catholic men.

 

Thursday, June 18 – Health Seminar at 5:00 pm titled “Managing Prostate Health and Cardiovascular Wellness in Adult Men.”

Friday, June 19 – Talk on “Family Finance and Wealth Management: Navigating Economic Realities.”

Saturday, June 20 –

Morning: Mass, devotion, seminar, and Confession.

Followed by general cleanup of the Church and its surroundings.

5:00 pm: Talk on “The Cardinal Role of the CMO as the Pillar of the Church.”

6:00 pm: Penitential Service.

Evening: Football match between St. Peter’s CMO, Ota and St. Charles Borromeo CMO, Akeja (former outstation) at St. Peter’s playground, Ota.

 

Sunday, June 21 – Grand Finale featuring Thanksgiving Mass, presentation of awards to deserving members, cultural displays, and refreshments.

 

The programme promises to be spiritually enriching, culturally vibrant, and practically impactful for all Catholic men in the parish and beyond.
