BUILT WITH LOVE, BLESSED WITH PRAYERS.
Rev. Fr. Gabriel AZEEZ
To God be the glory, last Tuesday at exactly 5:00 pm, Holy Family Catholic Church, Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan, was filled with joy as the parish celebrated the opening and blessing of its new rectory. The compound glowed with light as priests, religious, and parishioners gathered to witness the moment. It was more than a building opening; it was a family coming together to thank God for a new home for His servants.
The ceremony was led by His Grace, Most Rev. Gabriel ‘Leke Abegunrin, Archbishop of Ibadan, who blessed the edifice with prayers and holy water. Priests stood beside him, while parishioners joined their voices in hymns of praise. As the blessing went on, there was a deep sense of gratitude in the air. Everyone could see that this was not just a house of bricks and cement, but a place built for hospitality, prayer, and service.
His Grace appreciated and congratulated the priest and the parishioners for their support, sacrifices and generosity towards the just completed project. He urged them not to relent in contributing towards a good course. In his words, he said “A house becomes a home when God is in it.” Indeed, with this rectory, Holy Family Catholic Church has received a gift that will strengthen the work of the Gospel in Odo-Ona Kekere. May God who began this good work bring it to completion, and may the priests who live here find peace, rest, and strength for their ministry.
