Members of Association of Sacred Heart of Jesus (SHJ) and Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Ibadan Archdiocese are hereby notified that the Novena prayers in preparation for the Feast of Sacred Heart will Commence in all the Parishes and Outstations throughout the Archdiocese as from Wednesday 3rd to Thursday 11th June, 2026 by 5.00pm daily.

All Centre Presidents in all the Parishes and Outstations are expected to organize the Novena Prayers for their members.

The prayers and format for the Novena are clearly set out in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary prayer book. It is mandatory for all members of this Association to attend the Novena prayers at their Various Parishes and outstations throughout the Archdiocese.

The grand-finale of the nine day Novena and annual Feast day Celebration of Sacred Heart will take place at Christ the King Catholic church Odo-Ona, Ibadan on Friday 12th June, 2026.

The Holy Mass for the Celebration will commence immediately after the recitation of the Angelus with other prayers by 12.00 Noon. The Archdiocesan Spiritual Director and Parish Priest Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Adeyinka Ajewole is expected to be the Chief Celebrant.

All Centre Presidents in all the Parishes and outstations have been urged to mobilize their members for this important Occasion. Other activities to mark the day include the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary Coming up on 13th June, 2026.

Members who are mobile should kindly assist with their Vehicle to Convey members to the Venue (Odo-Ona).

 

Members should please endeavour to attend Mass punctually.
