ST. ANNES CATHOLIC CHURCH SASA OPENS ANOTHER OUTSTATION IN BALOGUN IBADAN

To the glory of God, the St. Annes Catholic Church, Sasa opens another Outstation in Balogun. This is another feather to the Ibadan Archdiocese, ably led by His Grace, Most Rev. Gabriel ‘Leke Abegunrin on evangelisation and bringing the Church closer to the people. The outstation was declared on the 27th April, 2025 by the Parish Priest of St. Anne Sasa, Rev. Fr. Peter Ajeigbe and named Our Lady Queen of Angels by His Grace on the 6th October 2025.

His Grace,  accompanied by very imminent personalities in the Archdiocese: The Vicar General- Very Rev. Fr. Gregory Oyelami; the Episcopal Vicar-Very  Rev. Fr. Ethapeme; the Archdiocesan Pastoral Secretary - Very Rev. Fr. Richard Omolade; Dean of the Bodija Deanery – Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Akinbinu; Parish Priest of St. Anne Catholic Church Sasa - Rev. Fr. Peter Ajeigbe; and Rev. Sister Stella-Maris of Pro Labore Dei International, successfully carried out the foundation laying ceremony of the new outstation on Monday, 11th May, 2026 amidst joy and excitement from members of the community and invited guests.

Also present at the Occasion were the Baales of Laniba and Balogun Communities, Zonal Chairpersons, Parishioners of Sasa and worshippers of the new Outstation. His Grace congratulated the Christians in Balogun for this latest development which he described as a sign of living and spreading the Catholic faith and encouraged them to keep up the good work and commitment of completing the Church in record time. The Outstation serves Christians in Balogun, Laniba, Sode, Falawo, Adeogun and environs all in Akinyele LGA.  It has about 23 families, 54 to 80 attendants on Sundays with about 35 to 40 communicants and catechumens in different classes.

 The ceremony featured prayers, goodwill messages, cultural displays, and the symbolic laying of the foundation stone. Construction work is expected to commence immediately. May the good Lord complete this good work He has started, Amen.
