Faith Series, Episode 119
THE HOLY MASS – PART IV
The Mystery of Faith:
- We proclaim your death O Lord and profess your resurrection until you come again.
- When we eat this bread and drink this cup we proclaim your death O Lord until you come again
- Save us Saviour of the world for by your cross and resurrection you have set us free
Join in the proclamation of faith with an awareness of the three varieties provided by the Church, Unfortunately we are stuck with “we proclaim your death O Lord…
The Lord’s Prayer: Make it your prayer, calling God your father, conscious of the wordings.
Kiss of peace: Do not search for only your friends to exchange the sign of peace with, we are all children of the same father.
The Agnus Dei: This is said at the breaking of the bread. The Lamb broken/slain to take away our sins will be invoked to take away our sins and grant us peace. This is an invitation for us all to participate, we should avoid being mute.
Reception of the Eucharist:
- Adopt modest and humble comportment to receive the Holy Eucharist
- Remember Him whom you are receiving God Himself who has given us himself as food.
- Avoid receiving frequently in an unworthy state
- Avoid greeting people immediately after reception
- Pray fervently after the reception
- Know what you have received
- Receiving Christ over and over should make us Catholics drunk with Christ. In other words we should be Christ-like for the volume of Eucharist residing in us, as a matter of fact we should be moving Tabernacles.
