Passion play staged by the Catholic Youth of Nigeria, St Anne Parish, ldo came with a difference as each of the Stations of the Cross was used to mirror the sufferings and pains underwent by JESUS bearing our burdens.
In fact, it was a practical demonstration of perseverance and endurance for the atonement of our sins.
The Parish Priest, Reverend Father Francis Oyetunji ably assisted by Altar Servers, Lay-readers and Catechists and Reverend Sisters brought life into every Station of the Cross as parishioners moved from one neighborhood to another.
Non-Catholics and runaway Catholics around Ori-Apata, Agbela, AnuOluwapo, Arijoyo, lyana Apata, Popo, OlaOluwa, lrewole, Orobiyi, Oke-OreOfe, and Goshen Square Communities could not hold their emotions as they witnessed the way JESUS suffered for the salvation of humanity exemplified in the passion play.
The GOOD FRIDAY Stations of the Cross were used to evangelize the Neighborhood as different from the previous ones.
Reverend Father Francis Oyetunji while concluding requested GOD to grant us the grace and make us a source of blessings to those we came in contact with and that GOD should assist us in our journey of faith.
In a related celebration, during the Easter Vigil at St Anne Parish, ldo on 4th April, 2026 Reverend Father Francis Oyetunji declared the Vigil as "Night of Nights. Vigil of Vigils. Resurrection that comes after death. GOD is so merciful that His joy is not to destroy all of us."
He said that JESUS is after the redemption of our souls. We should not allow ourselves to be deceived. We should put in greater efforts to surmount our challenges.
He admonished us that our journey with JESUS for 40 Days and 40 Nights should make us become ' holier' than we are.
The challenges of today are preparing us to face the challenges of tomorrow. JESUS conquered death for us. GOD gives the grace to do the needful, he concluded.
