St Anne, ldo hosts lgboora Deanery 2026 Cathedraticum

A gathering of Lay faithful from lgboora Deanery in the Archdiocese of Ibadan enthusiastically celebrated the 2026 Cathedraticum with His Grace, Most Reverend Gabriel 'Leke Abegunrin, the Catholic Archbishop of lbadan on Saturday, 28th March, 2026.
It was all spiritually enriching, filled with joy and happiness.
In his brief homily, Reverend Father John Ademoye emphasized the importance of Cathedraticum and why Lay faithful should cooperate and support the Metropolitan See of the lbadan Ecclesiastical Province in spreading and giving the little we have to the poor, the underprivileged, and the needy among us and within the environment or society we find ourselves.
Then came the hour of Thanksgiving when all Lay faithful from different parishes (lgangan, Olowu, lgboora, Eruwa, and ldo) within lgboora Deanery danced gracefully and joyously with varieties of gift items ranging from farm produce and manufactured goods.
The Dean of Igboora Deanery who doubles as the Parish Priest of St Mary Parish, Eruwa Reverend Father Vincent Alabi gave the vote of thanks as he expressed his heart - felt gratitude and appreciation to all Church Dignitaries who co- celebrated the 2026 lgboora Deanery Cathedraticum with His Grace, Most Reverend Gabriel 'Leke Abegunrin, the Catholic Archbishop of lbadan.
In his closing remarks, the Local Ordinary, His Grace, Most Reverend Gabriel 'Leke Abegunrin appreciated and thanked all Lay faithful of lgboora Deanery for their commitment, cooperation and support with and for their individual Parish Priests for making the 2026 lgboora Deanery Cathedraticum a success especially being the concluding part for this year.
Among the Church Dignitaries/Functionaries in attendance included the Vicar-General and Dean of Oluyole Deanery, Very Reverend Father Gregory Oyelami; Archdiocesan Pastoral Secretary, Very Reverend Father Richard Omolade; Dean of Mokola Deanery, Very Reverend Father Augustine Wale Taiwo, Dean of Oke-Offa Deanery, Monsignor Joseph ldowu; Parish Priests from lgangan, Olowu, lgboora, Eruwa and Reverend Father Francis Oyetunji, the Host Parish Priest; Superiors from different Congregations: the Vocationists, Eucharistic Heart of Jesus ( EHJ), Daughters of the Holy Spirit ( DHS), Franciscan Sisters, students of Vocationist Catholic College, nursery and primary school pupils
