BLOOD OF PROTESTERS CRYING TO GOD!

You can still remember vividly how those-in-power killed many protesters during ENDSARS protest of 2020. Weep for Nigeria, weep for yourself! “Jesus wept” Jn 11:35.

Now that the youth have courage to fight not just for themselves but for the entire Nigeria, let us weep for those slain in this ENDSARS protest especially at Lekki Toll in 2020. The blood of the innocent people covered the Toll Gate Lagos Government was using over the years to amass wealth.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him from them all” Ps 34:19. If those who persecute you unjustly think God does not see them, let them wait till judgment day!

The darkness is not enough to hide anything from God, our Creator. They can fly away from Nigeria to foreign countries in their private jets but not from God who created heaven and earth.

Most of our politicians have no fear of God. The biggest mistake we have made as a nation is letting political mafias rule far longer than necessary. Now that we have decided to cry to God who cares for the oppressed, let us braise up and face them. No risk, no gain. If we allow the fear of death to overwhelm us, we will craw continually. Death is inevitable by the way!

The Constitution empowered the electorate to elect leaders who are considered eligible to navigate the nation in the right direction. The same Constitution did not prohibit the electorate from correcting the leaders if they turn to rulers for their selfish means in our democratic era.

Why then should you kill those who staged a hunger protest aimed at correcting your mismanagement? Gen. 9:6 says, “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for God made man in His own image.” Those who shed the blood of hungry protesters in August 2024 should be ready for the Avenging God to repay them in their own coin.

Political leadership should not be seen as business for personal enrichment but a call to lead others to a greener pasture as designed by God. As leader, let justice and righteousness be your mantle to please God who entrusted His people to your care.

If you do it the other way round, the All-powerful God will avenge His people and clamp down on you. “For the vineyard of the Lord of host is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are His pleasant planting; and He looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; for righteousness, but behold, a cry!” Isaiah 5:7.

During their electioneering campaign, the politicians made promises to transform Nigeria to a better place to live in. As soon as they were sworn in, fuel price increased leading to economic hardship beyond our expectations: Insecurity, poor electricity, etc.

But it is necessary to support those who boldly embarked on hunger protest because they are doing so for a change now that there is a gap between what these politicians promised to do and what they are doing now.

On March 1, 2023 during the handing over of certificate to the President-elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he said among other things, “There are young people listening to me right now who shall one day be the leaders of our precious and exceptional democratic republic.

Thus, by taking this certificate, I assume a sacred duty I shall never ignore. To you the people, especially the youth, I will work day and night. I will work to the utmost of my ability to make Nigeria better.”

Some of our youths who could no longer seat and look while the Giant of Africa became Giant of Corruption decided to stage a hunger protest to bring about a positive change.

But after many were killed, our leaders neither regretted their action nor brings about the positive changes we hope for. We should not allow the relations of those slain protesters to weep alone. After all, these protesters were fighting for the good of the entire Nigeria Nation. So, let all rise and weep for their souls.

When Cain killed his brother Abel, God said to him, “Why have you done this terrible thing? Your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground, like a voice calling for revenge. You are placed under a curse and can no longer farm the soil. It has soaked up your brother’s blood as if it had opened its mouth to receive it when you killed him. If you try to grow crops, the soil will not produce anything; you will be a homeless wanderer on earth.” Gen 4:10-12.

Jesus Christ said in Mt. 10:28, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” As the blood of Abel cried to God in those days will the blood of these harmless ENDSARS protesters of 2020 and Hungry protesters killed in 2024 cry to God for vengeance!

“It is time for the Lord to act, for thy law has been broken” Ps 119:126. Rise up O Lord and send men and women of your choice to save Nigeria like you did for Israelites of old. Our rulers are still ready to kill more people who may like to protest and draw their attention to the hardship they have inflicted on us through their bad governance.

The current crisis has increased the number of widows, widowers and orphans in our midst. The God who heard the cry of Hagar’s son in the wilderness and changed his situation has not changed: He will deliver us from the bondage of our enemies. “Do not ill-treat any widow or orphan.

If you do, I, the Lord, will answer them when they cry out to me for help, and I will be angry and kill you in war. Your wives will become widows, and your children will be fatherless.” Ex. 22:22-24.
