THE CHURCH HAS NO APOLOGY FOR HER TEACHINGS… FR. J. ADEKA, CSJ.

A Josephite’s priest, Rev. Fr. Justine Adeka, CSJ at St. Anne Catholic Church, Ogbere, Ibadan on Sunday 25th August 2024 stated that the Catholic Church has no apology for her teachings as the Church cannot and will never compromise, for her teachings are truth.

The priest while reflecting on the day’s readings said the question asked by Joshua and Christ in the first and gospel readings as to whether the Israelites and the apostles were ready to follow the Almighty God is equally addressed to each and every one and that everybody should answer within him/herself.

Fr. Adeka used one of the sacraments, Marriage as an example saying: “It is more difficult when we have Church marriage. Many today want to do what they feel like. Man marrying man, man marrying animal or adopting animal as child”.

He stated further that Christ never asked ‘why are you leaving or what I said about my body and blood is ‘like’ and not real’. No, He has said the truth.

The homilist added that the Church cannot beg someone to come back to the Church based on her teachings except if it is based on inter-personal relationship with others, for each one has said “I will” during baptism.

He enjoined all to pray to the Holy Spirit to be able to say ‘I and my family will follow Christ’ like Joshua and Simon Peter declared and that God should touch the hearts of those who have run away to come back to the Church.

An officer of Wellness Health Consultant, Jacob Samuel also addressed the congregation on health related matters. He stated the need for good health in order to fulfil destiny.

He also recommended resting, exercising, eating healthy food and drinking of water very well to keep fit as recommended by the World Health Organisation(WHO).
