KNIGHTS OF ST MULUMBA HONOUR LATE BISHOP AS A PILLAR OF FAITH

Vincent OBANIYI

Members of the Order of the Knights of St Mulumba have paid heartfelt tribute to the late Bishop Emeritus of Oyo Diocese, describing him as a devoted spiritual father and a true pillar of the Church.

Speaking during the condolence visit, Sir Nicholas Dosumu, Deputy Metro Grand Knight, reflected on the Bishop’s outstanding contributions to the spiritual and moral growth of the Catholic community.

According to him, the late Bishop, alongside Archbishop Emeritus Alaba Job of Ibadan, was one of the earliest and most respected members of the Order. “Because of his guidance, spiritual direction, and vast knowledge, we regarded him as one of our great fathers. He stood with us, supported us, and worked tirelessly for the growth of the Church,” he said.

Sir Dosumu further noted that the late Bishop constantly encouraged members to give their three Ts—time, talent, and treasure—to the service of God and humanity, reminding them that every gift comes from God and must be used for His glory.

He emphasized that the Bishop lived by this principle, offering his entire life, energy, and resources to the Church. “He was a man who gave everything of himself for the good of the Church. We continue to pray that we may emulate his example and uphold the solid foundation he laid,” he added.

Present during the condolence visit were Sir William Otoba, Immediate Past Metro Grand Knight; Bro Jude Oduah, Coordinating Grand Knight Ibadan; Sir Anthony Adejinle, Immediate Grand Knight Ibadan Sub-Council; Bro Ehidianme Omofuma, Grand Knight Basorun Sub-Council; Bro Oladokun Michael, Worthy Assistant Secretary Ibadan Sub-Council; and Sir Theophilus Ajobiewe, Grand Knight Ibadan Sub-Council.

The Knights reaffirmed their commitment to continue the legacy of service and faith championed by the late Bishop, whose life remains an inspiration to all members of the Catholic community.
