The Parish Priest, SS Peter Paul Pro-Cathedral, Lagere, Ile-Ife; Rev. Fr. Peter Adeyemi has again reminded Christians of need for continuous gratitude to God. This admonition is coming as he resumed active duty after spending a month away from home on his annual break. Though he explained that human gratitude add nothing to the greatness of God, he emphasised the importance of praying daily for the mindset of gratitude. According to him, as gratitude is compulsory, complying to God’s instruction is necessary. Fr Adeyemi noted that gratitude attracts blessings and Miracle may not be flamboyant, because it does not only happen in an extraordinary event but most times in simple ways. In the heart of gratitude, the Priest reiterates, like Christ, that Christians should also take notice of fellow human who might be in need of help which is in their possessions rather than showing acts of indifference; it is by taking notice that one can determine who requires care or support, which is not limited to finance.

According to him, gratitude to God should not be restricted to actions that emanates after comparing oneself better than others but also be thankful despite comparison with people more blessed. He however encouraged Children to be grateful to parents, Priest to Parishioners, Parents to children, students should be grateful to their teachers and business owners to their customers.

In another development, Fr Adeyemi educated on the interrelation of Faith and Artificial Intelligence. He continuously object to the impression of some uninformed Christians who considers AI as evil invention. According to him, the world is not a finished product from a factory assembly line but a dynamic living entity capable of development and improvement in all areas of nature. He noted that the age of artificial intelligence has proven that the Church and faith in God must be understood in the light of contemporary reality, without losing focus on primordial revelation of God in Christ.  Fr. Adeyemi emphasized that the age of AI is not something new or outside of nature. He recalled that in the past, consciousness was domesticated in man with flesh and blood but now robots speak, reason, take decisions and perform multi-tasks which were exclusively preserve for human in the past.

He is however convinced of the possibility of believing in the AI evolution without denying the existence of God. He then stressed that there is no reason to think that the general laws of nature have been suspended by God; iterating further that natural selection will continue to work with remorseless consistency because many more wonders lie ahead for the universe.
