Oke - Are Seminary Old Boys’ Association of Nigeria holds AGM, Elects new Officers and lay Foundation for Ultramodern Toilets.

In a remarkable home coming, members of the Oke-Are Seminary Old Boys’ Association of Nigeria gathered on the Hallowed Grounds of their Alma Mater between Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th October, 2025 for the Annual General Meeting of the Association.
This year's AGM theme, "Forward Together - Consolidating on Achievements and Focusing on the Future to Drive Positive Changes," aligns with OSOBAN's mission to become a Top-Rated Old Students' Association in Nigeria, while supporting the growth of our Alma Mater.
Led by the Global President, Abel Oluwole Abimbola, fca, the Old Boys who included Priests and lay faithful used the opportunity of the AGM to thank God for how far He has led them in their various fields of human endeavors.
In his sermon at the AGM Opening Mass in the New Chapel, Very Revd. Fr. Felix Ethapeme, an old boy himself, encouraged the members to be more visible in the affairs of the Seminary than they had done in the past. He appreciated the Association for the various developmental strides that had been put in place and prayed for more.
At the Mass, Sixteen (16) members were raised to the League of Elders of the Association as prescribed by the Constitution. The ceremony was supervised by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Callistus K. Alabi.
Mr. Abel Oluwole Abimbola fca, the outgoing President in his own remarks appreciated the entire membership of the Association for their moral, financial and technical support for his administration and asked that such support be extended to the incoming President and his Executive.
The Association later had the turning of the soil for the foundation laying of an Ultramodern Toilets for the present Seminarians before going in for the AGM.
Highlights of the three days event included a Reminiscence Night at Jubilee Conference Centre, Oke-Ado; presentation of Awards to some Members including Bishop Peter Kayode Odetoyinbo of Abeokuta Diocese, Sir Michael Akiboh, Mr. Anthony Omomia, Arc. Charles Onyibe, Palle Henry Prince Agbodjan, Mr. Martin Gbolagun and Appreciation Certificates to some Members and the outgone Executives; induction of new members; induction of Elders; dissolution of the House and Electronic Voting results/swearing in of the new Executive.
In his acceptance speech, the new President, Elder Dr. Sir Vincent Gregory Eko appreciated God, the Board of Governors of the Seminary led by Archbishop Alfred Adewale Martins, the Board of Trustees of OSOBAN and indeed every member both home and in diaspora for the trust while promising to build on the efforts of Past Presidents and the vision of the founding fathers.
The AGM closed with a Mass on Sunday 5th October, 2025 where the Rector, Revd. Fr. Felix Emerue, thanked the Association for the support he had gotten since he became Rector a year ago. He called on the Association to help do more to make the Seminary the "Best and Most Preferred" among it's contemporaries.
