Unity in Diversity Echoed as Divine Mercy, Monatan Celebrates Cultural Harvest.

The parishioners of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Monatan, Ibadan went agog with joy and excitement as various Nigerian ethnic groups represented danced to the altar to celebrate this years cultural harvest of hope.
Cladded in varieties of colored attires to depict various zones in the country, the members were full of smiles as different cultures displayed in appreciation for this year’s celebration.
In his homily, the Parish Priest, Very. Rev. Fr. Joachim Akee appreciated God for the gift of Culture in the midst of all kinds of unrest witnessed in the country as he emphasized that there is still unity in diversity against all odds.
Fr Joachim encouraged members that no matter the tribe, ethnicity, color or language, we must appreciate each other and love one another as God loves the Church. He said we are all God's creatures and because we are His creatures He loves us all with no barriers or preferential treatment not minding the colour or where you come from. Fr Akee emphasized the need for members to live in peace and harmony stressing that by doing this, there will be unity and peaceful coexistence in the community and the country as a whole.
He appreciated all parishioners for their active participation in this year’s cultural harvest and encouraged all to keep doing more to support the Church.
Highlights at the Mass were family and inter - states cultural thanksgiving with different dancing groups bringing gifts and thanking God for His faithfulness and love on them.
Refreshments and music followed immediately after Mass outside the Church to the delight and satisfaction of all parishioners.
