On the 7th of April, 2024, Divine Mercy Suñday, the Archbishop, Most Rev. Gabriel ‘Leke Abegunrin erected St. Theresa AWOTAN as a Quasi Parish and handed the Parish to the care of Schoenstatt Fathers.

It has been a wonderful experience with the Schoenstatt Community, with lots of expectations.

Fr. Chochos Kunav ISch; the first parish priest, had been making all efforts to create an enabling environment for the parish to thrive as he met with the groups and individuals for the past few months.

He accomplished one of such expectations on the 21st of July, 2024 as he constituted the first Parish Pastoral Council for St. Theresa, AWOTAN.

On the 28th of July, 2024, the newly constituted council elected their officers as follow: Mr Patrick Ofodile – Chairman; Mr Crescent Urama – Vice Chairman; Dr (Mrs) Pauline Guobadia – Secretary; Miss Rita Gabriel – Asst. Secretary; Mrs Aremu Blessing - Publicity Secretary; Mr Dare Martins – Treasurer and Mr Stephen Ikwe – Financial Secretary. The executives were inaugurated on the 4th of August 2024. 

The parish priest in his admonition, explained the duty and responsibilities of the Parish Pastoral Council to the members while urging them to be active and be committed.
