ABADINA COLLEGE SET OF 1994 CELEBRATES 30 YEARS ANNIVERSARY.
It a glorious day full with memories and excitement as the Alumni Association class of 1994 Set of Abadina College (ABACOL ’94) gathered together in their numbers, to reflect on their past and celebrate their achievements.
It was an evening to remember as the atmosphere of the day explained the joy and friendship that is existing in the set.
The event was held on Saturday July 20, 2024 as the prestigious Gamaliel Onosode Hall, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
In attendance at the event were dignitaries from all works of life, notably university Professors, Business leaders, Medical Doctors, School Administrators, Bankers, Mechanized Farmers, Accountants, Federal and State Civil Servants and Military Officers who are all proud product of the wonderful 1994 set of Abadina College, gathered together to celebrate 30 years anniversary as students of Abadina College.
Narrating the history of their set, Mr Dotun Lokosu, the current National Assistant Secretary of ACOSA mentioned that Abadina College, University of Ibadan , a mixed –gender, day school and all- embracing co-curricular full fledged Secondary School was founded in October 1977 in a serene atmosphere of the Abadina Community.
He mentioned that the 1994 set resumed for full Academic pursuit on Monday, January 9, 1989 as the 13th Set of the school. He portrayed the 1994 Set as a very special, unique, and troublesome but very brilliant.
He said their Set is known for ACADEMIC excellence as showcased during different competitions and events they were privildeged to attend during their days in school.
He said the unique Set represented the school in competition within and outside the state and usually come back with several laurels. Their Set also engaged in sporting activities and also represented the school at football competitions.
Mr Dotun Lokosu thanked God for the grace he has given to their Set to celebrate themselves as many are doing well in their field of work. He thanked all members who had contributed to make the event successful.

There were goodwill messages from formal teachers and students of Abadina College, who taught the Set during their Academic pursuit.
Gracing the occasion were honorable Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology of Oyo State, Barr. Rahman Abidoun Abdul-Raheem, Prof Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof Adeyinka Abideen Aderinto, Former DVC Academic, UI, Dr. Taiwo Abideen Lasisi, Rector The Polytechnic of Ibadan, Dr Wale Lasisi, Chairman Nigeria Medical Association of Nigeria, Prof Sherifat Adeyinka Abooaba, Department of Chemistry, University of Ibadan, Prof. Ogbaraeo Pipy Fawole, Faculty of Agric.
University of Ibadan/Former Teacher of Abadina College others are Prof A. S O Ogunjyigbe, Provost. The Post Graduate College UI, Prof Olayinka O Omigbodun, Provost College of Medicine, UI, Prof Adetunji Lawrence Kehinde, DVC Academic, Research, Innovation and Partnersships.
Also in attendance were Rev. Fr. Joseph Akinbinu, the Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ilepeju, Rev. Fr. Felix Adedigba, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Fatima, Eleta and Mr Chris Ololo, CMO President of Sacred Heart, Ilupeju, Bodija, Ibadan.
There were presentation of awards of recognition to the special guests and some deserving members of the Set, amongst them was Mr Dotun Lokosu, after which the Set took to the dancing floor to express their skills and memories they shared together. The event was anchord by Mr. Yemi Shodimu, a veteran actor and journalist.
Barr. Oladipupo Oshunrinde the Chairman planning committee in his vote of thanks, appreciated the entire members of the 1994 Set, the Abadina College teaching and non teaching staff, invited guests and donors that supported the success of the anniversary.
He mentioned that to make the event a special occasion of the Set, 20 set of computers were donated by their Set for the good use of the students and the Abadina College. The Set pledged their continue support to the physical growth and development of the School.
