ST ANNE’S SASA APPRECIATES HER MOTHERS IN A GRAND WAY

Motherhood is a symphony of Love, Laughter and Devotion, played on the strings of sacrifice and selflessness. Mothers are the master weavers, intricately threading together the threads of family, tradition and love. Mothers are the pillars of our families, the guardians of our values and the nurturers of our dreams.

As a parish, St Anne Catholic Church, Sasa, paid tribute to the remarkable women who have mastered the art of balancing strength and vulnerability, discipline and compassion. We appreciate every gesture and every word mothers have used to show us that love is the greatest gift of all.

To mark the Mother’s day celebration on March 30, 2025, the event started with the Holy Mass at 9am. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Ajeigbe appreciated the dedication and devotion of mothers. He prayed for them and admonished them to keep being the good nurturers that they are. The Holy Mass was brought to a close after the CWO Thanksgiving.

The second party of the ceremony took place in the parish hall. The Parish CWO President, Dr Judith Ikejiama, appreciated everyone present to pay tribute to the countless sacrifices and the unwavering dedication of mothers. She further appreciated all mothers- biological, adoptive, foster and stepmothers and every woman who plays motherly roles in our lives. She admonished young girls and ladies to emulate our mother Mary and their mothers so as to become good mothers, and not just bearers of children. She also urged the young men present to prepare for fatherhood and emulate St. Joseph.

As mothers gathered, they brought with them varieties of flavors and traditions from their respective kitchens, each dish a reflection of their individual love and devotion. This shared feast was more than just a meal, but a celebration of the nurturing spirit that resides in the heart of motherhood.

The reception was filled with different activities. It ranged from poem rendition, St Cecilia choir’s presentation, a quiz competition between St. Anne and St. Rita societies, a dance presentation from CWO members, cultural dance presentation from CYON and many games. The event was brought to a close with CYON and HCA members presenting gifts to their respective mothers.
