CATHOLIC PRIESTS RENEW SPIRITUAL VOWS AT ANNUAL RETREAT
The Ibadan Presbyterate recently concluded its Annual Retreat, a 6-day spiritual rejuvenation program held at the Abbé Louis Bautain Retreat Catechetical and Conference Centre in Ijebu-Itele, Ogun State.
The retreat, which took place from March 16th to 21st, 2025, was directed by Bishop Anthony Ewehrido of the Warri Diocese. The event featured a series of spiritual activities, including talks, prayers, Stations of the Cross, penitential services, and confessions.
The retreat provided a unique opportunity for priests to reflect on their vocation and rediscover their purpose. Bishop Ewehrido emphasized the importance of recognizing why they became priests and what it entails to be a priest after Christ, their Master. He
noted and admonished that all should remain men of prayer, gentlemen and scholars who are always at the service of Christ and His Church. He buttressed the need to ensure a healthy relationship amongst fellow priests and the entire of flock of God.
The Annual Retreat is a significant event in the Catholic Church's calendar, allowing priests to renew their spiritual vows, recharge, and reconnect to their faith. The Ibadan Presbyterate's retreat was a resounding success, with participants expressing gratitude for the opportunity to rejuvenate their spirits and reaffirm their commitment to their priestly vocation. May Mary, Queen of Priests continue to assist all priests to remain faithful to the ministry of Christ, Her Son. Amen
