The annual Laity Week is here again. The Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria (CLCN) has directed that the programme should take place in all the Archdioceses and Dioceses in Nigeria. The theme for this year is “Upholding and Promoting Liturgy Among Catholics.”

All is now set in Ibadan Archdiocese for this annual event. The programme of activities starts on Sunday, 16th of March with an opening Mass to be Presided over by the Chief Shepherd of the Archdiocese, Most Rev. Gabriel’ Leke Abegunrin at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ilupeju Ibadan at 10:00am.

Other activities will hold as follows:

Monday, 17th March - Lecture at Archdiocesan level at St. Mary Cathedral, Oke – Padi, Ibadan by 5:00pm. Topic: “The Challenges of Laity as Co – Missionaries of Evangelization” to be anchored by Sir Fidelis Femi Fapohunda.

Wednesday 19th March – Stations of the Cross in all Parishes.

Thursday, 20th March – Lecture at Deanery level.

Topic: “Engaging the laity in understanding and following Traditional Practices and Liturgy of the Church.”

Friday, 21st March – Visitation to the less priviledge homes at 3:00pm.

Saturday, 22nd March:

1. Grand Finale of the Quiz Competition – 9:00am
2. Novelty Match - CMO Vs CWO – 12noon
3. Final of Archbishop’s Cup – 2:00pm
4. Socials – 3pm

Venue – Sacred Heart College, Akinyemi Ibadan.

Sunday, 23rd March – Laity Mini-Harvest in all the parishes.

All lay faithful in the Archdiocese are hereby enjoined to participate actively in all the programmes of activities.
