It was nothing but joy on the 22nd of February, 2025, for the Ogbimi family and the entire parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Light Chapel, of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as Prof. Francis Eniterai Ogbimi, celebrated his 74th birthday, Prof (Mrs). Grace Eserovwe Ogbimi celebrated her 70th birthday, she also celebrated her retirement as a university lecturer after 38 years of service, Professors F. E and G. E. Ogbimi also celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

Prof. (Mrs) G. E. Ogbimi finished her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), in 1986/1987, she was employed as a lecturer in October 1987. She rose through the ranks to the position of a Professor. She had her inaugural lecture in 2019 and she retired in January of 2025 from active service filled with great breakthrough and groundbreaking contribution to the betterment of the society.

The Professors F. E and G. E. Ogbimi got married on September 15, 1979. The marriage is blessed with children; Dr. Voke Ogbimi, Dr. (Mrs) Oghale Uwadiae, Mr Ajiri Ogbimi, Mr. John Eloh Ogbimi, Son in-law, Daughter in-laws and Grandchildren.

The Co-celebrant of the Holy Mass, Very Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Ajayi, thanked the couple for the good work they have done for the parish and society at large. In his words, he regarded them as "worthy examples of good discipleship". Mama G. E. Ogbimi served as the Parish President of Catholic Women Organization for many years and served with her time, talent and resources. Pa Ogbimi also served in various capacities as Communion Minister, Choirister, Altar server and Catechist. He hardly missed morning Mass. Very Rev. Fr. T. Ajayi prayed that the God they are serving will grant them good health of mind and body.

The parish priest Rev. Fr. Michael Akinsode thanked the celebrants. He enjoined them to continue and not relent in serving God and the society; that God will be with them now and always.

Prof. F. E. Ogbimi, on behalf of the family thanked God for His sustenance and His manifold blessings and protection his family has enjoyed. He also thanked all those who have in one way or the other being of help to him and his family with the University and the Catholic Church Community.
