CAMPAN NATIONAL PRESIDENT ATTENDS 2025 CSN MEDIA PARLEY, FELICITATES WITH FR. MICHAEL BANJO

The Media Parley 2025 organized by the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria took place on Thursday February 13, 2025 at the Training Hall of the Catholic Secretariat, Abuja. It was attended by the representatives of Media organizations in Nigeria. The National Presidents of the Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Sir Chimdi Oluoha and the Catholic Artistes and Entertainers Association of Nigeria, Amb. Edith Isidahomen were also present at the event.

The Secretary General of CSN, Very Rev. Fr. Michael Banjo addressed the media men during which he outlined the activities of the CSN in 2025. Heads of Departments of the Secretariat who were present, took turns to respond to issues raised by journalists.

Some of the issues included the get-rich-quick syndrome and neo-paganism prevalent in society, the proposed change in the system of Education in Nigeria, and the alleged call for the introduction of sharia in Western Nigeria.

On the craze for wealth, Fr. Banjo stressed the need for the formation of consciences to enable people decipher between evil and good. He said the family, school, religious bodies and the media should do their part to achieve the desired goal.

On Education, the CSN said it was watching developments in the area, and would come out with the position of the Church as soon as proposed education system became clearer.

 The CSN said the alleged call for sharia in Western Nigeria should be handled with caution to avoid restrictions of personal rights and freedoms.

On the sidelines of the parley, the National President, CAMPAN, Sir Chimdi Oluoha interacted with the Secretary-General, CSN, Rev. Fr. Banjo. During the interaction, Sir Chimdi extended the best wishes of CAMPAN to him, on his recent assumption of duty as the new Secretary-General of CSN.
