Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Olukayode Odetoyinbo, the Catholic Bishop of Abeokuta Diocese conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation on 53 candidates - 26 females and 27 males at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Iganmode Road, Ota, Ogun State on Sunday February 23.

In his homily at the occasion, the Bishop congratulated the candidates on their successful completion of the required catechesis which qualified them for the sacrament. He encouraged them to be compassionate to themselves and to others as that will help them in their spiritual journeys. The Prelate also encouraged the newly confirmed candidates to imbibe the culture of giving whatever they can afford as giving is the hallmark of Christianity. He, however, advised the candidates to avoid cutting corners in any guise as that could easily dent one's image.

 

The Parish Priest of St. Peters. Rev. Fr. Clement Ajibola Ashade, thanked the Bishop for honoring his invitation to the parish and assured him that the candidates were all tested and found worthy to receive the sacrament.

 

The newly confirmed candidates were visibly happy as they congratulated one another on the successful ceremony.
