Teachers and Rev. Sisters of our school also attended the event.
The workshop commenced at 11:00 am with an opening prayer led by Mr. Adeyemi, one of our teachers. The Senior Prefect, Okoye Soludo, delivered the opening address. Our school Librarian, Okure Gabriella, explained the importance of using the library.
Nwachukwu Josephine presented a thought-provoking speech on "Understanding and Cramming: Which is a Better Form of Learning?" Other educative activities were presented by Adekunle Oluwatobiloba, Adepoju Emmanuella, and Adedokun Temiloluwa. These activities were complemented by songs, riddles/jokes, and a drama presentation by Regina Mundi students.
The main talk for the seminar/workshop was given by Dr. (Mrs.) Bimbola Faith Idowu, a lecturer from Bowen University. She extensively explained the concept of reading, its importance, and the meaning of "reading culture," as well as the state of literacy.
The seminar was engaging and impactful, leaving students hopeful and eagerly awaiting the next edition. Before the close of the day, our Principal presented a Certificate of Participation to the visiting schools and a Certificate of Appreciation to Dr. (Mrs.) Bimbola Faith Idowu for her insightful lecture. Nwachukwu Josephine gave the closing remarks, and the School Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Frederick Samuel, led the closing prayer. As a token of participation, each student received a quote card on reading.
We extend our appreciation to our MC/Social Prefect, Alake Inioluwa, and the able teachers in the Media Crew/Social Committee. We give special thanks to God, who made the day successful, and to Our Lady, Queen of the World, for her maternal guidance.
