Leaders of Hope: IBCYON Empowers Young Leaders

The Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Ibadan Archdiocese, recently hosted a leadership seminar themed "Leaders of Hope" on February 22, 2025.

The event, attended by about 300 participants from over 50 parishes across the Archdiocese, aimed to equip young leaders with the skills, values, and inspiration necessary to become beacons of hope in their communities.

Renowned speakers, Fr. Linus Nnkemjinaka Onyenagubor, OSB and Architect Tosin Ibimiluyi, delivered inspiring and thought-provoking talks that challenged the participants to re-examine their roles as leaders and their impact on society. The speakers emphasized the importance of servant leadership, integrity, and compassion in creating positive change.

Group dynamics and interactive sessions facilitated teamwork, creative thinking, and problem-solving among the young leaders. These sessions encouraged participants to share their experiences, insights, and ideas, fostering a sense of community, team spirit and collaboration. It was facilitated by the Don Bosco Brothers.

The seminar also provided a unique opportunity for youth to network and connect with other young people from different parishes, fostering friendships and potential partnerships. Additionally, the participants were informed about the upcoming programs and events of CYON Ibadan Archdiocese for the year, empowering them to plan and get involved.

The seminar reminded the participants of the importance of their roles in youth leadership and encouraged them to become agents of hope and transformation in their parishes and communities. CYON Ibadan Archdiocese remains committed to nurturing and empowering young leaders to become catalysts for positive change.
