MONEY CANNOT SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS.

Do not be compelled by the current economic hardship to believe that money can answer all your problems. Every problem has expiring date; our Creator, God will see you through all your difficulties provided you rely on His promises and obey His commandments.

Eccle. 10:19 says, “Bread is made for laughter” and wine gladdens life, and money answers everything”. But the same Ecclesiastes told us in 5:10 that, “He who loves money will not be satisfied with money nor he who loves wealth, with grain: this also is vanity”.

The Daily Sun Newspaper told us on February 5, 2016 how a man sold his 3-month-old baby for N.5m in Delta State. He wanted to sell yet another child (a 5yr-old daughter) to the same buyer, a Northerner who then promised to raise funds later to buy the child and left. Children are gift from God and if you are bold enough to sell God’s gift to another person, then you can do more harm to humanity because of money. If you are not Judas, then you are closely related to him but rather than take your life, you can repent sincerely and change for good.

As a Christian, you have to think of life after death and reject the urge to stake your life for money. You should remember that no situation or difficulty is greater than God. Material possessions can make you confortable but they can never give you joy or happiness! When you put your trust in God in all your situations and see Him as your all in all, your joy and peace will be certain. So, do not rely on your wisdom or wealth.

1 Jn 5:14-15 says, “And this is the confidence which we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask we know that we have obtained the requests made of Him”

Jesus Christ told us in Luke 12:16-21 about the man whose harvest was larger than his barns. He planned to build larger barns to store his grains and goods to serve him for years. But God said to him, “Fool! This night your soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?” Jesus encourages us to be rich towards God and stop laying treasures for ourselves.

It all started long ago when Judas Iscariot allowed the devil to use him against his Master, Jesus the Son of God. For the love of money, Judas refused to abort his secret deal even when Jesus said in Luke 22:21-22, “But behold the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table. The Son of man goes as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed.”  Though Judas heard Jesus talking about him, he still went for the money.

How often have you betrayed Jesus in your neighbours, friends, spouse, children, relations, etc.? Know you today that your negative action towards the person next to you is a betrayer! So, why not look inwards to see if you have behaved like Judas and be remorseful to enable you experience God’s mercy before it is too late?  Do not exonerate yourself like Cain.

“The Lord asked Cain, ‘Where is your brother Abel?’ He answered, ‘I don’t know. Am I supposed to take care of my brother?” Gen 4:9. This was an opportunity for Cain to apologise and plead for forgiveness but rather, he defended himself unnecessarily and paid dearly for it. No man is a saint until he gets to heaven.

Do not justify yourself. Allow God to have mercy on you today. Jesus said to the Pharisees, who were lover of money, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for what is exalted, among men is an abomination in the sight of God”. Lk 16:14-15. If you have cheated others, then take note and repent please!

On April 28, 2021 the Nation Newspaper brought to our notice how members of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other related Commission (ICPC) revealed notable corruptions they were working on. They claimed that as many as 800 Dubai assets were linked to 35 past and present Governors and 299 former office holders in Nigeria.

Most Nigerians are starving while a few others are squandering our money for their personal interest. When people embark on hunger protest, some were killed, many arrested for expressing their feeling openly. Is Nigeria Independent? Have you forgotten that Our Creator God watches you as you go about crippling our economy?

Two things obviously are certain here: You were born and you will die. And when you die, you will face judgment whether you like it or not!

“I was ready to answer my people’s prayers, but they did not pray. I was ready for them to find me, but they did not even try. The nation did not pray to me, even though I was always ready to answer, ‘Here I am; I will help you.’ I have always been ready to welcome my people, who stubbornly do what is wrong and go their own way.  Even before they finish praying to me, I will answer their prayers”.  Isaiah 65: 1-2, 24.

Now that our protest failed, let us go to God in prayer and avoid corruption at all levels. If God could hear the cry of even a little child (Hagar’s son) and save both mother and child, why do you think he hears you not?

Jer 29:11-13 says, “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. You will seek me, and you will find me because you will seek me with all your heart”.
