PRIESTS ARE HUMAN - FR. PAUL AGORDI

Priests are human, but they have been selected to serve the faithful and their power is truly not theirs; Christ works through them, and they are bound to comply with the standards set for them’.

These were the words of Rev. Fr. Paul Agordi to his elder brother Rev. Fr. Victor Agordi in a homily during the latter’s Thanksgiving Mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Iganmode Road, Ota Ogun State, Abeokuta Diocese on Sunday, July 20, 2024.

Fr. Paul emphasized that without the grace of God in one’s life, one cannot achieve his purpose in life.

He recounted the numerous ‘stumbling blocks' his brother went through in the course of his priestly journey and congratulated him for turning those stumbling blocks into 'stepping stones', thereby remaining resolute and holding onto his dream of becoming a priest.

He asked the faithful to always pray for their priests as their moral and spiritual support act as an elixir in their ministry. Responding to his brother's wonderful delivery, Fr. Victor noted that 'without the challenges of life, it will be hard for you to know what life is all about'.

He thanked the eight priests who concelebrated the Mass with him among whom were Fr. Clement Ajibola Ashade, the parish priest of St Peter's Ota and Fr. Lawrence Ogundipe (sdv)

Fr. Victor was ordained on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Abeokuta by His Lordship, Bishop Peter Olukayode Odetoyinbo.

St. Peter's Ota organized a reception for the new priest after the Mass.
