The Parish Priest of St. Francis Catholic Church, Sanyo-Soka, Rev. Fr. Jude Adeyemo has elevated the parish as he inaugurated the First Laity Council of the Church which has been functioning with only PPC. The election which was free and fair took place on December 1, 2024 while the inauguration took place Sunday December 8, 2024

Sir Pius Agorye, who had just completed his 2nd tenure as Harvest Chairman was elected as the president. Others are: Mrs Rita Onaho, Prince Aderemi Odogiyo, Mr. John Ugwu, Mrs. Patricia Marcel, Mr. Augustine Azeez, Mr. Francis Ochokunu and Mr. Igweoha.

The investiture of four Altar servers also took place same day. The new Altar Servers are: Victor Adelakun, Emeka Samuel Uchenna, Odogiyon Ademidun and Odogiyon Oluwademilade.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Adeyemo in his remark acknowledged the fact that it is not easy to serve but they should consider the call as a privilege, and that God will strengthen them all through. He also urged them to give their best without any reservations. In his response, the newly elected first PLC President, Sir Pius Agorye said, “We stand before you this morning like Isaiah when he heard God saying, ‘Whom shall I send?’ and he said, ‘Here am I. Send me!” Both the PLC members and the New Altar servers were happy to be granted the privilege to serve.

With the above event, it should be noted that St. Francis Catholic Church, Sanyo-Soke is growing and will continue to grow!
