Bishop Lawani Ordains, Rev. Emmanuel Ajomale, Inaugurates Diocesan Ordination Committee

It was a moment of sanctification and thanksgiving at St. Joseph Catholic Cathedral, Taiwo Kaale Road, Ilorin, Kwara State during the Priestly Ordination of Rev. Emmanuel Oluwatimileyin Ajomale by the Catholic Bishop of Ilorin Diocese, Most Rev.  Anselm Pendo Lawani on Friday 22nd November 2024.

The Chief Shepherd of Ilorin Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Anselm Pendo Lawani in his homily during the Ordination Mass expressed thanksgiving to God for the gift of the day as he reminisced on the vocational journey of Reverend Emmanuel Oluwatimileyin Ajomale to priesthood where he revealed that he was the Vocation Director, when Rev Ajomale was a student.

The Chief Shepherd extolled the virtue of humility of the deacon while admonishing him to remember that the life of a priest is a selfless life and a life of sacrifice. He reminded him too, of the sacrificial life of Jesus Christ as the model life for the priest.

Bishop Lawani disclosed that one of the secrets to a successful priestly life is the closeness and relationship with the one who calls His chosen to priesthood, who is Jesus Christ!

The Ordination Mass also witnessed the inauguration of a new Diocesan Ordination Committee for Catholic Diocese of Ilorin.

In his inaugural speech, Bishop Lawani challenged the new committee members to rely on the Holy Spirit to guide them in the discharge of the responsibilities expected of them by God and the Church.

The Ordination was concluded with a Thanksgiving procession that was led by the newly ordained priest.
