‘Embrace Thanksgiving,’ Fr. Charles Onyema Urges Mokola Parishioners

At the Parish Harvest Thanksgiving and Bazaar of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Mokola, Ibadan, held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, Fr. Charles Onyema encouraged parishioners to cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving.

“As children of God, we are called to give thanks, not out of fear, but because of God's love for us”, Fr. Onyema said. God gave us “His only Son, Jesus Christ, who willingly sacrificed Himself for our salvation. Our response should be one of gratitude.”

Fr. Onyema emphasized that thanksgiving is essential, even in difficult times. "God never abandons His people," he assured. "We must have faith and believe that God will do good for us."

He encouraged the parishioners to offer their best to God, acknowledging that everything comes from Him. “The Parish is our collective project, requiring collective efforts to succeed," Fr. Onyema added.

Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Eseola expressed gratitude to all parishioners for their involvement and participation in the Harvest activities. “Your efforts made this celebration a success, and the resources put into the planning and execution of the Harvest especially the regional harvest were commended.” Fr Eseola pronounced the South East Regional as the winner of the Parish Regional Harvest.

Pa John Oyewusi, in his appreciation remarks, thanked the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Eseola and Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Ibimiluyi, Committee Members, and Parishioners for their support and contributions. “Your time, talent, and treasure made this harvest successful,” Pa Oyewusi remarked.
