THE ONLY KEY TO OUR MIRACLES IS FAITH…FR. D. AGUBOSIM

Catholic faithful have been admonished to have faith in God always, in order to receive their miracles. The Parish Priest of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Felele – Ibadan, Rev. Fr. Darlington Agubosim gave the admonition during a Night Vigil organized by St. Anne Parish Ogbere, Ibadan as part of the activities marking the 11th Anniversary of the Parish from 20th – 21st September, 2024.

It could be recalled that the Parish celebrated the 11th Anniversary with a Mass on the 14th September 2024 and a General Thanksgiving on Sunday 15th September, 2024.

Highlights of the Night Vigil included: Holy Mass, Strolling Rosary Prayer, Adoration, Spiritual Talk, Intercessory Prayers, Anointing, Burning of Intentions and Concluding Mass.

Speaking on the theme “What I have written, I have written” (cf John 19:22), the facilitator, Fr. Agubosim explained that every purpose of Christians’ lives is good and that no matter what people say, if God has not said such, they should be ignored.

Fr. Agubosim explained further that God’s ways and thoughts are different from Man’s ways and thoughts and that God’s work might be delayed but no one could stop it.

The Priest wondered why Catholic faithful often say “Jesus I love You…” but when little things happened to them they cried. “Many times we don’t have our miracles because we don’t have faith. We are afraid of what happened to us but not afraid of God, who holds the key.”

The Facilitator therefore, urged Christians never to get tired of praying because there is season and time for everything. “God’s time is the best but do we have patience for God’s time?” He asked.

Fr. Agubosim reminded all that all the miracles performed by Christ in the Scripture were based on the faith of the recipients and that if God does not meet a heart of faith, there is nothing to speak to. He also advised that Christians should be mindful of the fact that “When their prayers are about to be answered, the devil often increases their temptations and that God could push them to the extreme, to test their faith but that they should strive to wait for their miracles, no matter the delay.

Enjoining the Parishioners to emulate Saint Matthew, whose feast was celebrated on 21st September, the priest said “What people say about you does not matter, but what God says.”

The Cleric also added that three things that could affect the grace of God on Christians are sins, doubt and greed. He therefore urged them to always pray to God for the grace they needed.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Stephen Balogun was grateful to Fr. Darlington Agubosim for accepting to be the facilitator for the Night Vigil and also to parishioners for their active participation throughout the vigil.
