Investiture Ceremony of Twelve New Altar Servers at St. Anne Catholic Church, Igangan.
On September 22, 2024, St. Anne Catholic Church in Igangan celebrated the investiture of twelve new altar servers: Olagunju Francisca, Olagunju Daniel, Agboola Mary, Adedeji Felix, Alapode Magdalene, Ojoawo Francis, Adedeji Mary, Fagbemi Oluwatosin, Ogunniyi Julius, Oladapo Augustine, Adedeji Christianah and Olagunju Oreoluwa.
This important event followed months of preparation, where the candidates were trained and guided to fulfill their roles as altar servers in the Church.
The Mass began at 10:05 am, with Rev. Fr. Callistus Afolabi as the Chief Celebrant. The first reading was delivered from the Book of Wisdom (2:12, 17-20), followed by the second reading from the Book of Jacob (3:16, 4:3), The Gospel reading from Mark (9:30-37) which set the tone for the homily.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Callistus emphasized the importance of humility and service in leadership. He congratulated the twelve newly invested altar servers, urging them to take their roles seriously and to work diligently for God.
He also encouraged parents to support their children as they embark on this noble and spiritual journey.
The Investiture ceremony involved the calling of the new altar servers for questioning by Seminarian Paul Eze, followed by the blessing and vesting. This solemn moment was filled with joy and reverence, marking a new chapter in their service to the Church.
The Mass concluded with an heartfelt thanksgiving and announcements. It was indeed a memorable occasion, celebrating faith, community, and commitment to serving God.
