The Parish Priest, SS Peter & Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral, Lagere, Ile-Ife; Rev. Fr. Dr. Peter Oluseyi Adeyemi has delivered the final financial briefing of the Parish’s “House of Gold Shopping Mall” to the members of the Parish Pastoral Council on Sunday 22 March 2026. The event took place during the second Parish Pastoral Council Meeting of the year. The 14-phases document contains the executive summary of income and expenditure for the project execution from 2024 to 2026.

Recall that the Catholic Bishop of Osogbo Diocese, Most Rev. John Oyejola earlier commissioned the Mall in January 2025 to enable the commencement of economic activities. The Multi-million Naira Shopping Mall was brought to its absolute completion in 2026, seven years after the effort of achieving its vision was publicly announce in 2019. The project consumed about 150 million Naira. It received acceleration after raising funds at the installation of Parish Chiefs which took place Thursday 8 February 2024, four years after the resumption of Fr. Adeyemi at the Parish. The priest returned all glory to God for the fund raising and successful completion of the mall project.

He appreciated the Bishop for his approval, while he profoundly appreciated the parish chiefs for their significant contributions. He did not forget to appreciate members of the Parish Pastoral Council under the leadership of Prof Marcus Bola Eleruja, the entire parishioners, families and friends, including well-wishers for support till date. While the record contains the summary of the financial execution of the project from the foundation stage to its completion, since he took charge, he acknowledges the effort of Rev. Fr. Festus Komolafe, then Parish Priest, who first came about the idea of the Mall on the reserved burial ground. He did not forget to acknowledge the immediate past Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Paul Akintayo Akinyode who began the laying of the foundation. Fr Adeyemi was congratulated by all for his rare managerial skill and succinct financial record keeping.

The PPC Chairman, Prof Marcus Bola Eleruja, together with the Secretary, Mr Anthony Olumuyiwa Oluponna received the financial document from Fr Adeyemi on behalf of the Parish Pastoral Council, and the entire Parish community of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral. The management committee, comprising the Parish Priest and members of the Parish Pastoral Committee will henceforth see to the management of the Parish's House of Gold Shopping Mall.
