In preparation towards the 2026 Laity Week celebration which shall come up in March. Ibadan Archdiocesan Laity Council is organizing a quiz competition for the young ones in all the parishes in the Archdiocese.

According to the Chairperson of 2026 Laity Week committee, Miss Beatrice Adigun, the essence of the quiz competition is to build and strengthen the faith of the young ones in the doctrine of the Church. The quiz will involve those within the age bracket of 10yrs to 18yrs; their baptismal cards shall serve as the evidence of their age.

The quiz will be based on:

• Catechism of Christian Doctrine (CCD)
• Bible – Gospel of St. John chapters 1 – 10
• The Laity Manual chapters 5 - 8
• Life of St. Carlo Acutis
• Church Current Affairs ( Church in Nigeria)

The schedule of the quiz is as follows:

• Sunday, 18th January – Parish level
• Sunday, 8th February – Deanery level
• Saturday, 28th February – Finals of the quiz (Archdiocesan level)

In respect to that, Parish Laity Presidents and Deanery Presidents are to get prepared. They are to collect their questions from their Parish Priests and Deans respectively.
