Christmas Celebration for the Aged @St. Joseph Oke-Ado Parish

St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oke – Ado parish has celebrated Christmas for the aged in the parish. The event took place on Tuesday 23rd December, 2025 and was hosted by the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Benedict Ugwoegbu, while the homilist was the Archbishop Emeritus of Ibadan, Most Rev. Dr. Job Alaba

In his homily, His Grace said, he was very happy as the parish celebrated Christmas for the aged people in the parish, St. Joseph Oke-Ado. He also said every 24th of every year he normally celebrate his Priestly Ordination at Agodi Correctional Centre and this year will be his 59 years as a priest. He urged all aged people that they should prepare themselves, for tomorrow might be too late. He prayed also for departed souls among the aged that God grants their souls eternal rest, through Christ our Lord, Amen. His Grace said to all that this life is vanity, that all should prepare themselves for one day all will go back to our home.

The Archbishop Emeritus appreciated the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Benedict Ugwoegbu of St. Joseph Oke-Ado, who remembered the aged people in the parish and wished all a HAPPY CELEBRATION, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE.

The Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Benedict Ugwoegbu in his remarks said “I am very happy today and it is very good to celebrate our Elders in the Church for what they did in the past not until they died we will now be remembering them.” He added also that the day is a very special day to all of them in the parish of St. Joseph Oke-Ado. He prayed for them that they may live long through Christ our Lord, Amen.
