The procession which commenced from Regina Mundi Girls’ Secondary School, Iwo after the celebration of Holy Mass passed through Okebode, Olukotun streets, Idi Agbede, Oja Ale, Oluwo’s palace and concluded with Benediction at St Anthony Catholic Church, Alaagbo - Iwo was indeed glorious and cheered by all.
Speaking earlier during homily at Mass, Fr. Fredrick Samuel, Principal of Our Lady of Fatima Academy, Iwo, said Christ is not only the King of Jews but He is the King of the whole world and that the Kingship of Christ is of love, truth, peace and justice. He said there are lots of chaos, confusion and injustice in the world today because our kings and leaders do not submit to the Kingship of Christ.
The priest said a lot of lies are being projected to us daily by our leaders in Nigeria calling white black, distrusting the truth particularly as regard the genocide of Christians and helpless citizens in Nigeria despite the glaring evidence everywhere. He said the followers also are not left out in the lies as some of us think they cannot make progress in their business if they do not tell lies. “A lot of lies being projected to us daily, if we do not stop those lies we cannot allow Christ to reign in our life”. He added.
Fr. Samuel then charged all to stop lying and tell truth to one another, and to allow Christ to reign in their life, in their families and in our country Nigeria.
The Mass of Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe was celebrated by Rev. Fr JohnPaul Nnajiofor, Parish Priest of St Anthony, Iwo, his Associate Fr. Joseph Adeniyi and Fr. Fredrick Samuel at Regina Mundi Girls’ Secondary School, Iwo.
