Association of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Elects new Officers in Osogbo Diocese.

The members of the association of the association of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary of the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo, recently elected a new set of officers to run the affairs of the association in the Diocese for the next four years, till year 2029.
The event was held at St Benedict Catholic Cathedral, Osogbo after a thanksgiving Mass presided over by the association's Spiritual Director; Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ogundipe.
The election results presented Bro Mathew Olayinka Olawuni as the new President, the Vice-president - Sis Mary Emiola Bakare, General Secretary - Sis Felicia Modupe Fasakin, Asst. Secretary - Bro Peter Akinyemi, and the Financial Secretary - Bro Francis Oluwatobiloba Olaniyi,
Others elected into the posts of Promoter - Bro John Olayinka Bolarinwa, Registrar - Bro Stephen Adewale Babawale, Social/Welfare Officer - Sis Mary Dada, Publicity Secretary - Bro Francis Makinwa, Internal Audtor - Bro Anthony Olayinka Aluko, All Night Adoration Coordinator - Bro Taiwo Owolabi, and the Tarcisian Coordinator - Sis Roseline Mojirade Ajadi.
The Immediate Past President, Sis Racheal Oluyemisi Adeyemi was appointed as Ex-officio with Sis Helen Awe.
However, the post of the Treasurer would be contested for at the Ede January 2026 Conference.
The immediate past President, Sis. Rachel Adeyemi in her speech appreciated God for the grace and enabling power to steer the ship of the association for the past four years. She appreciated the spiritual director; Fr. Ogundipe and his assistant; Fr. Olusola for their prayers, sacrifices and support. She thanked the outgoing officers for their sacrifices to the association. She reported that during her tenure, more centres were created based on the establishment of new deaneries in the Diocese. Also, many new members, young and old Catholic faithful were encouraged to join the Association and many members were solemnly admitted into the association. She congratulated the new officers for making themselves available as useful and chosen vessels in the hands of God.
In the first address of the new President; Bro. Matthew Olawuni, he thanked the outgoing EXCO, under the leadership of dynamic President; Mrs Rachael Oluyemisi Adeyemi, for steering the wheel of progress to an enviable level and he extolled the members' co-operation with them to success. He congratulated the new EXCO for being found worthy to be elected into respective offices. He charged them to see their election as a call to serve God and humanity through the Association. 'Let's work together as a team, roaming in love, and, flaming the flame of faith, love and commitment to the devotion and activities of the SHJ & IHM,' he advised. He assured the Association to build upon the existing structure with his team. He called for the support of the outgoing leadership, and, more collaborative efforts from the association's spiritual leaders.
The election was anchored by the Fr. Ogundipe and Mr. Taiwo Adeyemi, the former Association's National Auditor.
