Episode 98 SEXUAL ACTS AGAINST THE VIRTUE OF CHASTITY

Adultery: This is an act in which two people of whom at least one is married to someone else have sexual relations. Why is it sinful? It is a sin committed against the bond of marriage, and its sacredness as an institution established by God from the beginning. Couples are to work at strengthening their permanent commitment in marriage.

Premarital sex:  This is engaging in sexual activities before marriage. Why is it sinful? It is sexual activity without commitment and the spiritual marriage bond that joins a couple for life.

Artificial birth control is the use of man-made devices, such as condoms, intra-uterine devices (IUDs) to prevent the conception and birth of a child. Why is it sinful? It tries to artificially block the purpose for which God intended human sexuality. Natural methods are however encouraged.

Masturbation:  Masturbation is also regarded as self-abuse because it is an act of deliberately stimulating one’s sexual organs by oneself. It is a grave and serious matter because it denies the purpose of human sexual activity, which is the possibility of new life. This sexual act can never result in the birth of children. Pray and seek wise admonition to overcome this evil.

Promiscuity: This is a casual and superficial approach to sexual love. A promiscuous person is someone who has sex with a number of partners without regard to a faithful commitment.

Prostitution refers to the buying and selling of sex, usually between strangers. It is wrong because the prostitute sells his or her body for money. It reduces the seller to nothing more than an instrument of sexual pleasure.
