COMMISSIONED AND SENT

85 parishioners of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, who participated in a nine-week long life in the spirit seminar, were commissioned on Sunday August 11, 2024.

The Life in the Spirit Seminar is a Catholic, Scripturally-based process of seven teaching sessions, each building upon the previous session. It included speakers, scripture, music, prayer, and small group discussion.

The seminar acts to deepen one's relationship with God the Father, God the Son and especially God the Holy Spirit. The seminar was organized by the Liturgical Committee of the Parish in collaboration with the Leadership of the Parish Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

In his homily before the commissioning, the parish priest, Fr. Woods warned that “the greater your blessedness, the greater your temptation’’. He exhorted them to make the Eucharist the love of their soul. Noting that, not minding how many times we eat in a day, we would still be hungry. The only food, he said, that can satisfy every form of hunger is the bread of life which is the Eucharist.

The 85 participants, being sent forth in a solemn ceremony comprised both male and female, young and old. Participants came from the altar servers, the choir, the youth movement, the C.W.O, C.M.O and many others from the different societies.
