HURRAY!!! AUGUSTINE UNIVERSITY, LAGOS, SOARS TO NEW HEIGHTS WITH 13 ADDITIONAL NUC-APPROVED COURSES

Augustine University (AU), owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, has taken a significant leap forward in its academic offerings with the approval of 13 new courses by the National Universities Commission (NUC). 

In a letter to the Academic Board of the university, dated June 6, 2024, the Nigeria University Commission gave full accreditation to the following courses: Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Economics, English, Mass Communications Accounting and Philosophy.  

The approval of these new courses brings the total number of NUC-approved programs offered by Augustine University to 23, solidifying its position as a leading institution of repute and higher learning in Nigeria.

The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Odetunde expressed delight at the NUC’s approval, stating that the full accreditation by NUC signifies that Augustine University meets the national standard for higher education and is poised to offer its students a robust and comprehensive academic experience.

When approached for his comments, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, the Proprietor of the University said that the new development is quite encouraging as the Church continues to strive in its social duty to provide opportunities for many young ones to access affordable top-class education and all-round formation in learning and character.

He said that with the caliber of personnel engaged, the Archdiocese is fully committed to ensuring a steady progress in all that concerns the university.

While anticipating for more courses to be accredited soon, like Law and International Relations, the new approved courses open a wider vista for more candidates from across the country and beyond, further enhancing the university’s reputation as a hub of academic excellence.
