Ajayi Crowther University's Department of Peace and Conflict Resolution, on June 10, 2025, hosted a dynamic symposium titled "Emerging Trends in Peace Studies: Becoming True Agents of Peace Beyond the Classroom."

The keynote Speaker, Ogundare Olubusayo Cecilia, Project Officer at the Justice, Development and Peace Movement (JDPM) of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, delivered a compelling and practical lecture. Her session focused on innovative strategies in peace building, conflict resolution, and the cultivation of social cohesion, emphasizing real-world application beyond academic theories.

Ogundare urged the students to step into the role of peace ambassadors within their communities, highlighting the importance of active engagement, collaboration, and commitment to sustainable peace. Her insights challenged participants to see peace not just as a concept, but as a daily practice that requires conscious effort.

The event attracted a vibrant and diverse audience, including the Head of Department, six faculty members (two male and four female lecturers), and 47 students (32 females and 15 males), all of whom expressed renewed enthusiasm for peace-oriented initiatives.
